| Once upon a time, on a warm,clear morning. A little girl was wondering through the forest … Her curiosity had lead her away from her usual path and close to a tree where she made an amazing discovery … In the ground, buried beneath dead leaves it lied. It was a white stuffed rabbit. She named him “D”. He was cosy and lonely .She decided to make him her best friend…
‘D-construct’ tells the story of a little girl in a fantastic world, wondering through mountains, enchanted forests and rivers, searching for animal parts to attach to her little stuffed rabbit´s body in the hope that he would come to life with them. When things don´t go the way she expected, she is forced to extend their journey to the place where the rabbit was created, only to find an abandoned city with traces of chaos and destruction. At the same time, a mysterious divine character guides their way and has prepared a special place for the growing creature in a heavenly civilization.
This is a film that mixes real action with stop motion animation of puppets that are half stuffed toys and half taxidermied animals. Shoot completely in Chile, in the beautiful southern national parks and in decaying abandoned factories in Santiago´s suburbia, it all ends in a child-like heaven setting, where the stop motion animated final act takes place.
It took about 5 years and a multidisciplinary crew to complete this handcrafted little gem. |
